This is a blend of tangerine, cypress, and neroli that I created for a friend and have tried myself too, both with excellent results!
Tangerine [Citrus reticulata]-Citrus essential oils are extremely uplifting. Tangerine has an affinity with the nervous system, stress, anxiety, nervous tension, and depression.
Cypress [Cupressus sempervirens]-Cypress is excellent for issues associated with feelings of overwhelm, over thinking, excess worry, and it also helps support breathing space.
Neroli [Citrus x. aurantium]-Neroli is my unsung hero when it comes to anxiety and mental health. The essential oil is especially noted for use with panic attacks, as well as stress, stress-related conditions, anxiety, depression, shock, amongst others.
1 (5-10 ml) glass bottle with cap
1-2 tsp. coarse salt
12 drops tangerine
8 drops cypress
2 drops neroli
- Add coarse salt to the glass bottle (1 tsp. if using a 5ml dram or 2 tsp. if using the 10 ml).
- Add essential oils over the salt.
- Cap tightly and add a label!
How I use them: As soon as I recognize a panic attack and am able to: I like to find a dark, quiet place where I can sit on the floor with my knees to my chest and inhale the smelling salts deeply while concentrating on my breath for 5-10 minutes, or as long as needed, though typically this is enough to do the trick!
