Whenever a time like this occurs I am always drawn towards meditation to balance myself out. It allows me a few moments of peace to process my day, restore my energy, and start fresh. This old zen saying almost always comes to mind…
You want me to sit still and quiet my mind!? You have got to be kidding me…
Well with mindfulness meditation I learned, it is okay to have thoughts! In fact, they are welcomed! The point of being mindful is to be aware of what troubles us, be it mentally, physically, or spiritually, so that we may acknowledge it and let it go if need be.
While I certainly do not have it down to a fine art (just yet), these are a few of my beginner tips on practicing mindfulness meditation.
I have found using essential oils in combination with my meditation practice to be very successful. My ability to clear my mind initially and stay focused, as well as stay in meditation longer, is typically greater when using essential oils than without. My favorite essential oil blend for this purpose is Meditation by Edens Garden.
